Established in 2015 by Sara and Dan DeLeo, Dan Buys Houses has become respected and trusted by North Carolina property owners for making the process of selling property SIMPLE.

About Dan DeLeo:

The Owner of Dan Buys Houses, Dan DeLeo is a full-time real estate investor who brings years of experience in real estate and business operations to help North Carolina homeowners. Dan has an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management from Penn State University and an MBA from North Carolina State University. Dan is also a North Carolina licensed General Contractor. Prior to owning Dan Buys Houses, Dan was a partner and Chief Operating Officer in a local aquatics management company where he oversaw day-to-day operations of the organization.
Dan’s passion is in helping create solutions for homeowners who need to sell their property but can’t or don’t want to do so through the conventional retail market. And, Dan loves transforming properties by breathing new life into them so that they may continue to be special for families to enjoy in the future.

Dan is a passionate community advocate. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for SAFEchild, a local non-profit that works to protect children and strengthen families by eliminating abuse and neglect. Dan is also a volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. Dan has held leadership positions with SAFEchild as the President of the Board of Directors and with the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce as a three-year Board of Directors member, two-year Executive Committee member, Annual Campaign Chair, and Young Professionals Network Chair.

Dan was a 2016 recipient of the prestigious Triangle Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award and was named a ‘Millennial on the Move’ by Midtown Magazine in 2018.
Most importantly though, Dan is a husband to his patient and amazing wife Sara and father to his three awesome children, Grayson (9), Quinn (8), and Emil (6).

About Nate Funkhouser:

Nate is the Vice President of Business Development for Dan Buys Houses. Nate received his Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his Associates in Arts degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC.


Nate has prior professional experience as a customer service focused manager in the commercial aquatics industry as well as in software sales and logistics management. Nate is a proud Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout and a graduate of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Emerging Leaders Program.

Nate is passionate and genuine, making him the perfect fit to work with home owners to craft tailored solutions for their specific needs.

Nate moved from the greater Washington DC area to Fayetteville, NC at the age of eight where he called Fayetteville home for over 14 years. Some of Nate’s passions include volunteering for non-profit church ministries and helping people find solutions to complex problems.

In Nate’s spare time, you can find him gazing at the night sky through his telescope and exploring the great outdoors with his wife Kaitlin and dog Dani.
